Holly's 17th Birthday!

I call this, "Flaming Homemade Cheesecake" Actually, just the candles were on fire. And the dessert, (Holly's favorite) turned out perfect.

She is holding an autographed photo of Mikhail Baryshnikov, a gift she literally squealed over!

Here she is modeling her new hoodie made in Nepal.

Amelia gets a swimming suit!

Sarah brought Amelia over for her first swimming experience in our pool. She looked so cute!

Peter shares his smile!

After five weeks of struggling with an allergy to cow's milk, Peter is finally getting better and feeling like smiling. The allergy was diagnosed only after weeks of sleepless, anxious days and nights for baby and mom (and dad!) Now, with Heidi on a completely dairy and chocolate free diet, he is doing better. Yahoo!

Sweetheart Dance Photo February 11th

Our Ward had a REALLY FUN Sweetheart Dance on Friday. The music was great, the dancing fun, and the free photos, taken by our resident professional photographer, Katrine Kruger, turned out lovely. As Charles and I were enjoying the evening, talking and laughing with dear friends, my separation anxiety began rising. These people, these associations, how can I ever live without them?

Holly Scores Another Day with Otters!

Holly was able to do a second Otter Experience at Monterey Bay Aquarium last week. What's even better is that she got community service hours (required by her school to graduate)! She had exciting stories to tell about how the otters were captured, crated, sedated, tagged, implanted with surveillance devices, and then awakened and released back into the ocean. I can only image how a poor otter must feel after this human intervention to help the populations thrive. They're probably thinking, "Why me??"

Bon Appetit!

Every Sunday, Holly and I enjoy making a dessert from her Bon Appetit desserts cookbook. This week it was Cranberry-Apple Crisp. They used ginger and cardamom rather than cinnamon and with the lemon zest and cranberries, it was very tart and very good!
